The Google Sandbox effect Basically the web community is split as to whether the sandbox effect or 'filter', actually exists. At K & M Web Solutions, we can only talk from the perspective of our own experiences. We know for certain that websites being loaded for the first time under a new domain are taking approximately 4 - 6 months to get any visibility in Google at all. This certainly adds some substance to the argument that Google has an anti-spam measure in place. We have also found that the sandbox effect appears to be evident on websites which have been optimised for the first time and previously have shown no visibility in the search engine.

We advise all of our clients of the pitfalls of obtaining high rankings in Google - we recommend that our customers are patient and play the 'long game'. Ranking will happen, but it will take longer if the domain name is new or the customer is looking for search engine visibility for the very first time. PPC campaigns are an internet marketing option which can be used in the interim period and have been shown to help speed up the process.
